Founding of the Shoemaker’s Workshop
On 23 July 1927, Josef Trattler founded a shoemaker’s workshop at Weitseestraße 13 in Reit im Winkl. Custom-made shoes and repairs remained the only source of income until 1948.
From Craftsmanship to Retail
In 1952, the first retail store was created following a renovation. In 1956, Junior Franz Trattler began producing handcrafted, double-stitched mountain and ski boots made to measure. Several expansions followed throughout the 1960s.
The First Branch
In 1969, the first branch, “Sporthaus am Eck”, was opened and the company began selling sportswear and fashion. In 1976, after a major renovation, today’s shoe store at Weitseestraße 13 was established.
Skis and Sports Equipment for the Region
With the acquisition of the former Durchner bakery, the company began selling skis and sporting goods. Following several major renovations and new construction projects – most recently in 2022 – today’s SKIHÜTTE has become one of the largest and most modern sports stores in the region.
Traditional Clothing, Fashion and a New Location
In 1989, the Trattler family took over the former Singer fashion store. The “Kaufhäusl” began selling traditional clothing and country-style fashion. Today, the Sport und Mode OUTLET is located there; the Kaufhäusl later moved to Weitseestraße 1.
More Choice in the Heart of the Village
The “Per Pedes” fashion shoe store was opened in the former post office building in Reit im Winkl. The redesigned forecourt also created a popular venue for public events and significantly enhanced the appearance of the village centre.
A Boost for Winter Sports
With the construction of the cable car to the Winklmoosalm, transport accessibility was significantly improved. INTERSPORT RENT was established as a convenient rental location directly at the valley station. At the same time, all three rental locations were electronically connected.
The Main Store Continues to Grow
In 2013, the main store at Weitseestraße 13 was expanded and modernised once again.
